Sous-vide cooking can be done with a wide variety of silicone bags. They don’t contain any BPA, PVC, or plastic whatsoever. Silicone bags, on the other hand, tend to be the most expensive.
PEVA is less versatile than silicone, but it is cheaper. Leakproof and freezer-safe PEVA bags may be found at most supermarkets. Some can be washed on the top rack at low heat in the dishwasher. However, they can’t be baked or microwaved.
When it comes to making reusable sandwich bags, the most common materials are polyester and polyester blends. On the top rack of the dishwasher or the freezer, they’re safe.
